The Ernest Art Deco Headboard named after American novelist, short story writer, and journalist Ernest Hemingway. The Upholstered headboard embodies his economical and understated style which was a strong influence on 20th-century fiction. The Ernest has a bold panelled design exuding luxury and comfort. Its deep-padded panelling absorbs and reflects natural light and brings the piece alive. The Ernest Headboard is floorstanding and perfectly compliments the Twix Ottoman Base, photographed here in Amethyst Mystic velvet fabric.
Our Ernest Art Deco Headboard forms part of our new collection which celebrates the cultural renaissance of the 1920s that reached its summit at the 1925 Paris Exposition of Decorative Arts and ever since been romantic referred to as the 'Art Deco' era. The ultimate outcome was an iconic style captured in buildings, cars, art, fashion and interior design that was both sleeker and less ornamental, where symmetry and geometrical space were re-defined. Sueno has gone on a similar renaissance with this range. We have tried to stretch the common thinking behind bed design to develop headboards and beds that you've never seen elsewhere, adored works of art that transport you to a defining time in western culture.
