Luxury Beds MADE IN BRITAIN

What do Dame Judi Dench, Stephen Fry and Cheryl Cole all have in common? They’re British – just like each and every one of our products at Sueno. Beds, mattresses, furniture – you name it, if we sell it, it’s British and proud.

Sueno Beds Made in Britain

At Sueno we firmly believe that British-made products are the best. Having been in the bedding industry since 1975, it’s fair to say our independent family-run business has seen brands and trends come and go. We’ve known the day when waterbeds were de rigeur, round beds lusted after, and geo-pattern orange and brown upholstery an absolute must-have. Yes, at over 35 years old, we may not have the flourish of youth on our side, but we’re confident we’ve got the wisdom that comes with notching up a few years. So we’re certain we’ve got it right in only choosing to sell items that have been made in the UK (which, of course, includes our own Sueno beds too).

When it comes to luxury beds that have been sourced and made in Britain, we’ve got the best. Take for instance, our Frank Hudson beds – a name renowned for style and quality. Established in 1947 and hailing from High Wycombe, Frank Hudson beds do style and flare like no-one else. Think beds that are a little bit different from the norm – Gothic, renaissance style or chesterfield inspired for instance.

Then there’s Newcastle-based Kaydian. Established ten years ago in 2004, Kaydian beds make a contemporary statement in the style stakes, and ooze comfort from every corner. The range includes luxurious TV beds for the ultimate in indulgence, and ottoman beds for homes where serious storage is a must-have.

At Sueno, we’re not just about selling – we’re about the making too. In fact, here in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, we make divan beds and Healthopaedic mattresses that exude quality and comfort. Want to see how we do it? You’re welcome to come along to our manufacturing plant and showroom to see the process for yourself. This open-door policy is all about allowing our customers to see just how much care and attention to detail goes into each and every one of our divan beds and Healthopaedic mattresses. Then, when you’ve realised you can stand your lumpy old mattress or creaky bed no longer, you can treat yourself to a Healthopaedic mattress and divan bed and enjoy a price that’s more than 50% off the high street price tag. If that won’t help you sleep soundly, we don’t know what will! But if you need extra convincing, here are some of the reasons why buying a British-made bed or mattress is a wise idea…

  • Guaranteed high quality craftsmanship
  • Total product/quality control
  • A product that’s been made to order (which means nothing is left lying around in a warehouse at risk of being damaged)
  • Tailored to your individual needs
  • The option of custom sizing – on divan beds and mattresses
  • Local experts who you can contact about your order if you need to
  • A British-made product
  • Control and transparency of material sourcing and working conditions
  • Control over lead times – that means, we’ll tell you how long it will be before your order reaches you and keep you updated on the process

Then there’s also the fact that choosing to buy British means you’re investing in this country. You’re helping to keep people in work, supporting their development, and doing your bit for the economy (plus, we’re pretty sure Mary Portas would be proud of you).

What needs to be pointed out is that, buying British doesn’t have to mean expensive. In this respect, think of your bed-buying choice as you do your clothing. Some clothing is of the ‘cheap, wear a few times and throw away’ variety. Other clothing is well made, cut to your proportions, and will last for years.

We know which category Sueno falls into, but you don’t have to expect the price tag of a high end designer. In fact, our prices are comparable to suppliers who sell internationally-made items, and we’re always lower than the high street. Which is great, because being British we love a bit of a bargain!
