2018 is the year of statement ceilings. From fancy light fittings to colourful patterns and 3D textures, this is definitely the year to look up! For a low-budget way to incorporate this trend into your own décor, consider a coloured paint for the ceiling that will compliment the colour on your walls.
Another Pinterest trend prediction for 2018 is ‘spa bathrooms’. Pinners are keener than ever to achieve a spa feeling in their home bathrooms and it’s easy to see why! Spa bathrooms include features such as beautiful plunge baths and large walk-in showers. Choose muted tones for your colour scheme and add a plant or two to nail two trends in one.
We spoke to Iris Wingfield, interior design consultant at Flat Pack Mates. Iris said that open shelving is a key trend we will be seeing more of in 2018.
“If you are planning a kitchen renovation, use open shelving for at least some part of it. This is also suitable for small kitchens or living rooms, it takes less space and allows for less clutter.”
Open shelving is a wonderful way to update your kitchen. Just remember to invest in some beautiful Kilner jars to show your pantry at it’s best!
